G. Frederick Schroeder is President and Chief Investment Officer of Schroeder Capital Management, LLC, in Lafayette, California. Schroeder Capital provides custom-tailored investment counsel to private individuals and institutions throughout the United States.

Prior to establishing Schroeder Capital Management, Mr. Schroeder had been Senior Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer, and Chairman of the Investment Committee of Van Kasper Advisers, an affiliate of Wells Fargo Securities, LLC, in San Francisco, where he was responsible for domestic and international separate account portfolio management, investment strategy, research, and marketing. Schroeder Capital Management is the successor entity to Van Kasper Advisers.

Previously, Mr. Schroeder was Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President of Templeton Portfolio Advisory, a division of Templeton Worldwide, where he directed all investment activities of the company’s $2 billion in assets of the Private Client Group  in Fort Lauderdale, Florida: global separate account management, research and investment strategy. Prior to Templeton, Mr. Schroeder was Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Transamerica Investment Services, San Francisco, and Senior Investment Analyst at ITT Hartford in Hartford, Connecticut.  

Mr. Schroeder has over 30 years experience creating and managing personalized portfolios, formulating investment strategies, conducting fundamental research, and marketing. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). Fred received his Bachelor’s degree in Business from San Jose State University, holds National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) licenses and is a member of the CFA Institute, FINRA, and the Financial Analyst Societies of San Francisco and Los Angeles

Mr. Schroeder has been honored as a Five Star Professional Wealth Manager in the San Francisco East Bay each year since the program began in 2011 and recognized as one of "Ten Five Star Wealth Managers You Need to Know" in The Wall Street Journal in 2015. In 2012, Forbes Magazine featured Mr. Schroeder as one of seven Northern California Financial Leaders. He recently received national recognition in Forbes 2016 Investment Guide.
